St. Philip School is unique because it draws students from 7
different school districts. The students are offered a variety of services and
enrichments. An ESAP (Elementary Student Assistance Program) Team comprised of
teachers and professional counselors is in place to help teachers and students.
The Allegheny Intermediate Unit offers Speech and Hearing Assistance, and
diagnostic testing for behavioral and academic concerns. The local school
districts provide reading and math remediation. There are also programs for
instrumental music, enrichment for accelerated students, and after school
tutoring as needed with classroom teachers.
The PTG arranges and underwrites monthly enrichment programs
on a variety of topics and the staffed library and Reading Is Fundamental
project encourage students to develop the habit of reading for enjoyment. The
school cafeteria serves hot lunch daily and offers a varied menu with healthy
foods. We are adhering to the Guidelines advocated to serve healthy foods in

available on call daily and is in the school on Tuesdays and Thursdays. In
order to provide clear lines of communication between school and home, St.
Philip maintains a school Web site with links to individual classroom Web
pages, publishes a monthly newsletter, school directory, and annual yearbook
featuring individual, class, and candid shots of students and faculty. An after
School Child Care program operates from 2:30-6:00 PM on school days and there
is a summer camp with free breakfast and lunch for children ages 5 –12.
